What u said remind me of my school days too. several teachers I’ll never forget as they are very unique: whenever before the maths lesson, we need to rush to wrap the chalk for our maths teacher so that her delicate hands won’t be hurt; my music teacher’s famous words when she was scolding us: “你地咁樣做究竟為名定為利?”; and we never had eye contact with our eng. lit. teacher. If our eyes met, u’ll be the one to answer Shakespearean characters and the underlying meanings of their conversations!

Negative or positive, the unforgettable teachers impressed you by their personality and characters mostly but not their degrees or english accent. Your music teacher herself (?) must have done everything 為名或為利in her mind.

Let me supplement. A long long time ago, during our music lesson, our teacher was handicapped by the VCD machine and needed to seek help from us, the students. And well, you may guess, nobody did offer help. The teacher was then enraged (no face ah ma), so eventually, one of our classmates stepped out. However, when she was approaching the machine, that teacher suddently asked her "為名或為利" (for offering help).

Of course, that was simply becoz 老羞成怒. But really weird, right?
